This is a Viking ship sailed from Denmark in 1948 to commemorate the landing of Hengist and Horsa in Kent
Remember coming to Pegwell Bay as a kid and watching the hovercraft arrive and leave and returned again shortly before the terminal closed. Nice to see the Viking ship is still here.Shame that the rest of this area has been left to nature to reclaim.
It's a replica that was sailed here in the fifties. You can look at it and that's it. Nearby cafe is absolutely tip top though.
